RCD Freestanding ropes course

Price Range: £34,000 - £40,000 plus optional extras

Description

This is a freestanding design (negating the need for any guy cables). It is a comprehensive facility that can accommodate up to 4 groups working simultaneously.

General Specifications

  • Conforms to EN:12572 (for artificial climbing structures) *
  • Meets the requirements of the EN:15567 for Ropes Courses *
  • Includes independent inaugural inspection
  • Designed to address Working at Height Legislation - in terms of appropriate access for instructors *
  • Standard dimensions. Poles 13 metres above the ground.* Higher and lower structures possible
  • Steel finish can be painted * or galvanised. Latter recommended for longevity but is marginally more expensive (details overleaf)
  • Belay beams in place of cables minimise the need for maintenance and maximise the number of team elements. Additionally, belay beams enable the structure to be freestanding and eliminate the need for guy wires. *
  • Designed to be used by up to 4 groups of 12 people simultaneously *
  • Designed to prohibit unauthorised access for the first three metres when the ropes course is not in use *
  • Safety signs included *
  • Tested ground anchors included *
  • Operational ground area required is approximately 17 metres x 15 metres.
  • Option for complete ground covering (pea gravel to 150mm minimum with geo-textile membrane and appropriate retainers). This is necessary both from an aesthetic perspective and to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Poles can now be mounted above the ground to maximise longevity. New EU regulations pertaining to timber treatment have reduced the effectiveness of the preservation process. The new pole mounting method, adopted by RCD, is expected to provide 20 years of life expectancy under normal circumstances.
  • Can accommodate the new POWERFAN® designed and tested in accordance with relevant parts of BS: EN: 341 1992 and conforms to EN: 15567 for Ropes Courses
