Description
One or two participants are hoisted upwards by team members. Participants choose when to commence the swing by activating a quick release mechanism by their side. The higher they go - the greater and faster they swing. The maximum hoist angle is approximately 10 degrees beneath the horizontal.
Heights of the structure can vary but, if constructed as an entirely freestanding structure, then (typically) the main supporting poles are 13 metres above the ground and the hoisting pole 17 metres above the ground.
Participants are clipped in from a special mounting trolley that is 1200mm above the ground and this gives a maximum pendulum of 18 metres or 60 feet.
